General description

Although the DENPO PREMIUM DAC is the smallest digital-to-analogue converter in our range of products, we can safely say that we have created a 'little giant'. It may not be a giant in physical terms, but it most certainly is in terms of capabilities.

This device has been specifically designed to deliver excellent sound quality that far exceeds its price range.

It uses the ROHM BD34301 (MUS-IC) chip, a product of a renowned Japanese chip manufacturer which provides impressive sound quality with proven technical parameters.

The sound quality of these types of devices also depends greatly on the digital and analogue circuits, power supply components, clock signal management and the capabilities of the DAC chip, as well as the harmony of all these elements.

During the development phase, we strove to strike an excellent balance between these elements, resulting in a rich soundstage, balanced high-, mid- and low-frequencies, and natural warmth, true resolution and tone.

Thanks to its small size and numerous digital ports, the DAC has been designed to be versatile, allowing it to be connected to various types of digital source device (e.g. CD players with SPDIF output, music servers with i2S or USB output, and TV sets with Toslink optical output).

We also recommend it for users whose source devices only have USB audio outputs (e.g. ordinary PCs or notebooks) and who want to minimise the number of digital source devices in their music setup.

The DENPO PREMIUM can handle virtually any signal natively, including PCM 24/384 kHz and DSD256 (USB and I2S).

Therefore, it can easily convert almost all digital music material on the market into an analogue signal.

Our DAC has true symmetrical and asymmetrical analogue outputs which can be connected to an integrated amplifier or preamplifier.

The analogue output signal level meets the standard of 2 Vrms for RCA and 4 Vrms for XLR, so it can be optimally connected to almost any device on the market.

The rigid aluminium housing and RFI shielding ensure adequate cooling of the panel and shielding of sensitive components.

Separate analogue and digital power supply transformers ensure that sensitive functions are isolated from each other.

Like all our other devices, the DAC is available in a silver finished aluminum version as well as black anodized aluminum version.

Following extensive experimentation and testing of numerous output operational amplifiers, we developed our own discrete output operational amplifier to see if we could surpass the off-the-shelf products on the market.

We can confidently say that we have succeeded.

Even though it costs a lot more, it is definitely worth it because of the improvement in sound quality.

This is why all DENPO PREMIUM DACs come with our own fully discrete, single-channel operational amplifiers (3 per channel, 6 in total).

As with DAIDO servers, if you become used to the sound, you can upgrade with a KARUNA DDC converter or KAGEN master clock. You can also add a DAIDO server.

Thanks to our use of specially selected quality components, properly optimised architecture and high-precision internal clock technology, we believe that we can offer our customers a digital-to-analogue converter that sounds warm, fluid, lifelike, airy and smooth. It can easily compete with products in the €15,000 range or even slightly above.
